Tastasal is a typical product of the area of Verona.Its name derives from the tradition of checking the right amount of salt in sausage meat: the words in the local dialect tasta = taste and sal = salt.It is made by carefully mincing choice cuts of pork belly and shoulder.This cold meat has gained more prestige over time, becoming one of the delicacies of Verona and the main ingredient of a typical local dish: risotto with tastasal.

Tastasal is one of the most authentic and original products of our sausage factory in Buttapietra. We take pride in it because it is a perfect example of our desire to preserve and continue the ancient traditions of regional cuisine.
